HappeningUK Database Admin System
HappeningUK's administration tasks were taking up much of the management team's valuable time. Each client needed weekly updates on: activity planned, invoices and activity completed which was previously handled by a baffling number of spreadsheets and inefficient duplication of information. Using PHP and MySQL I developed this system to streamline the company's admin tasks.
The results were that the Management team were enabled to look after wider areas, and in some cases, part time student managers were employed to look after cities. The system made reporting easier but also regulated the type of information that was reported and enabled clients and senior management to monitor progress. The result: Decreased Management hours wasted and a leaner sales force.
The system incorporated Google maps for the teams and clients to find the venues in which the activity was happening (previously handled by emailing maps/directions or getting phone calls from lost staff late on a Saturday evening!). On online gallery enabled promotions Team Leaders to upload photos after promotions that could be instantly viewed by Management and clients.
CSS was used to deliver branding and appropriate design depending on who was using the site. The system knows who is logging in so can deliver the branding that is appropriate to the user. This means that clients experience a bespoke system whilst sharing the resources with others.
A summary of the system's capabilities:
